What is Art Deco Design?

The key to getting art deco design right in a bathroom space is to start with the walls and ork from there. Marble is a common choice, across a range of different colours, like black, grey or white. The same goes for the floors, which should complement the walls no matter which combination you end up going with. As we mentioned, geometric patterns are at the heart of this design style. For something even more attention grabbing, try a printed wallpaper, being mindful that bathrooms are traditionally moist spaces, so not all options will tick the boxes. The overall design can be complemented by adding in simple plants like succulents - it doesn’t matter whether you go the real or artificial route here. 

Practical Additions

A bathroom should always be practically designed, considering you’ll be spending a lot of time in it. Practical additions are important, but these don’t necessarily have to follow the stock standard choices for fixtures and fittings. Black vanities with marble countertops are enough to send a strong statement. Explore detailing in a way that evokes and inspires creativity when you enter the space. Brass and copper are great choices for art deco bathrooms, allowing the room to be rounded off in a way that isn’t as easy with other styles. 

A Dash of Luxury
