The 8500 Series is the square edged member of Bathroom Butler's numbered accessory ranges and the second largest stocked here, with 55 lines active. Bathroom Butler describe it as a square design combined with slightly rounded edges, suited to a classic or contemporary bathroom. In practice that means flat faces and softened corners rather than hard machined edges, which is why it sits comfortably next to square or rounded tapware.
How it differs from the 4600
Honestly, less than the two part numbers suggest. The 8500 and the 4600 Series cover almost exactly the same set of items in the same sizes, and the choice between them is a shape decision rather than a specification one. Round against square with softened edges, and nothing else about the range changes.
There are two real differences worth knowing. The 8500 lists both a closed towel ring, 8540, and an open towel ring, 8541, so you can pick whether the towel drops through a full hoop or hangs off an open arm. And the 8500 is stocked here in three finishes where the 4600 adds a fourth, so if brushed champagne gold is the plan the 4600 is the range to look at.
Reading an 8500 part number
The first two digits are the series and the last two are the item, and that pair carries across the numbered ranges. 8501 is a type 1 paper holder and 8507 its left hand version, 8502 is type 2, 8503 type 2 with a flap, 8504 holds a second roll. 8510 and 8511 are the single and double robe hooks, 8520 the shower rack, 8530 the soap rack, 8538 the toilet brush and holder. Rails carry their length: 8570, 8572, 8575 and 8578 are singles at 430mm, 650mm, 800mm and 1100mm, 8582, 8585 and 8588 are the doubles, and 8593 is the 650mm towel shelf.
Sizes and finishes
Work out rail length first. 430mm is a hand towel beside a basin, 650mm takes a normal bath towel, 800mm lets a bath sheet hang flat instead of folded and 1100mm suits a bathroom two people share.
