Bathroom Butler Toilet Roll Holders

Fifty five toilet roll holders from Bathroom Butler, the family business that started in South Africa and pioneered Grade 304 stainless steel accessories instead of chrome plating. This is the deepest single accessory group Bella carries from the brand, and the choice inside it comes down to arm shape, which way that arm faces, and finish.

Type 1 and Type 2 Are Two Different Arms

Type 1 is the traditional one and the largest group here at twenty one holders. It is a single round open ended arm with a disc stopper at the tip, so the roll spins freely but cannot slide off when you pull. Type 2 swaps that for an open arm fixed at an angle, with a slight curve at the end doing the same job and a squarer line against the wall. Six here are plain Type 2 and five more are Type 2 with a flap.

The flap models, 4603 and 8503 in the stainless series and 8203 in the 8200 Series, add a hinged cover over the roll. It hides the paper, gives you an edge to tear against one handed, and keeps splashes off the roll where the holder sits close to a basin or shower. In a dry corner the plain Type 2 is simpler, and there is nothing to knock.

Left Hand and Right Hand Are Separate Products

Type 1 is made in a left and a right version under different codes: 4601 and 4607 in the 4600 Series, 8501 and 8507 in the 8500 Series. That is settled at the point of order, not on site, so establish which side of the pan your fixing wall is on first. Only eight of the fifty five titles here state Left or Right outright, so ask us to confirm the hand on the rest. Type 2 is not handed.

Spare Holders and Matching the Rest of the Room

Eighteen of these are spare holders, and a spare holder does not dispense. It parks two standard rolls on an extended base so a reserve is always within reach, which means it is fitted alongside a Type 1 or Type 2 rather than instead of one. Finish is what ties a bathroom together, so most buyers take the pair with a toilet brush and a robe hook in one order. Polished and brushed stainless steel, matt black, champagne gold and chrome all appear here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a Type 1 and a Type 2 paper holder?
Type 1 is the traditional round arm: a single open ended bar with a disc stopper at the tip so the roll turns freely but will not slip off when you pull on it. Type 2 uses an open arm fixed at an angle with a slight curve at the end instead of a stopper, giving a squarer look against the wall. Both take a standard roll and both load from the open end.
Do I need a left hand or a right hand toilet roll holder?
It depends on which side of the toilet your fixing wall is. Bathroom Butler makes Type 1 as two separate products, 4601 and 4607 in the 4600 Series and 8501 and 8507 in the 8500 Series, so the hand is fixed at the point of order. Work it out before you buy. Type 2 and the spare holders are not handed, so either side suits.
What does the flap on a toilet roll holder do?
Three things. It covers the roll so the paper is out of sight, it gives you a firm edge to tear against with one hand, and it shields the roll from splashes when the holder is mounted near a basin or inside a shower zone. If the holder sits in a dry spot and nobody needs one handed tearing, the plain Type 2 is simpler.
What is a spare toilet roll holder for?
Storage, not dispensing. A spare holder takes two standard rolls on an extended base so a replacement is always within arm's reach of the pan. It is designed to be fitted next to a Type 1 or Type 2 dispensing holder rather than used on its own. Eighteen of the fifty five holders on this page are spare holders.
Can I match a paper holder to my towel rail and toilet brush?
Yes, and the design range is how you do it. Every accessory in the 4600 Series, 8500 Series, 8200 Series, Felicity, Integrity, Lavish, Elemental and Unity ranges shares the same body shape and finish options, so the quickest route is to open the range page rather than the product type page and take the paper holder, brush and rail from one place.
