How does a Zip HydroTap work?
Zip HydroTap is an under-counter filtration and chilling unit that supplies a single tap with multiple water modes through one spout. The G5 system delivers filtered boiling water on demand at 100 degrees Celsius, instantly chilled water, sparkling carbonated water (on BCS models), and ambient filtered water. The under-counter unit replaces a traditional kettle, jug filter, and sparkling water maker, freeing counter space. The system uses MicroPurity filtration to remove sediment, chlorine taste, lead, and biological matter. Filter cartridges are replaced annually as part of a service contract.
What plumbing and electrical connections does a Zip HydroTap need?
Zip HydroTap G5 requires a dedicated 15mm cold water inlet, a standard 220V power outlet inside the cabinet, and a 40mm waste connection for any drip tray or vent. The under-counter unit measures approximately 470 x 175 x 415mm and needs ventilation clearance around it inside the cabinet. The Command Centre models can sit further from the tap, useful in island installations. We strongly recommend Zip-approved installation, as the warranty depends on a certified install. What is the warranty on Zip HydroTap and black kitchen taps?
Zip HydroTap G5 systems carry a 3-year residential warranty on the under-counter unit and tap, covering parts and labour through Zip's South African support network. Standard matt black kitchen mixers in the range carry distributor-backed warranties between 2 and 5 years depending on the model. Will matt black hold up next to a hob and oven?
Yes.
