The Blutide Mixed Tide range
Mixed Tide is one of the smaller Blutide ranges. Nine products, all listed in polished chrome, and they are spread across the house rather than concentrated in one room. The useful thing is that you can specify the bath, the basin, the kitchen sink and the shower valve from a single range and have the levers and spouts read as a set. Blutide is distributed in South Africa by Vortex Sanitaryware. If you need a wider finish choice or a deeper suite, the larger ranges will serve you better.
What is actually in the range
The nine pieces are two wall-type bath mixers, a standard and a longer offset version, a concealed diverter mixer and a concealed shower mixer, two wall-type sink mixers, a one-hole swivel sink mixer, and two basin mixers in a guest and a standard size. There are no accessories, shower heads, hand showers or freestanding bath mixers carrying the Mixed Tide name, so those come from elsewhere in the Blutide catalogue.
Wall-type and deck-mounted, and why it matters
Most of Mixed Tide is wall-type. The mixer body is built into the wall and only the spout and lever come through the tile face, which keeps the basin rim and bath ledge clear and makes cleaning easier. The trade-off is timing: a wall-type or concealed mixer has to be set by the plumber before the walls are closed and tiled, so it is a decision made early in a build, not late. The one-hole swivel sink mixer and the two basin mixers are deck-mounted and fit a standard single tap hole, so they can replace an existing tap without opening a wall.
Finish, and where to look next
Every Mixed Tide item is listed in polished chrome, so there is no finish decision to make inside the range. Chrome is the straightforward one to match against existing fittings and to replace later, which is why it stays the default on rental stock and speculative builds. If you want black, gunmetal or brushed brass instead, you will need to change range.
