Blutide Neap
Blutide Neap Taps
Neap is the plainest range Blutide lists here, and useful for it. Twelve products: four under tile stop taps, a pillar tap, two bib taps, a prep bowl tap, a wall type bath mixer, a wall type sink mixer, a one hole sink mixer with J spout and a basin mixer with swivel spout. Every item carrying a size is 15mm. This is the page for the working fittings behind a house, not the showpiece over the vanity.
Pillar taps and bib taps
A pillar tap is a single upright tap that mounts through the deck of a basin or bath and runs one temperature, so they go in pairs, one hot and one cold, in two tap holes. A bib tap has a horizontal inlet and screws into the wall so the body projects outward, which is why it turns up over a scullery sink, a wash trough, a washing machine point or an outside wall. Neap lists a standard bib tap and an extended one that reaches further from the wall.
Under tile stop taps, and what CxC means
Four are listed, in gunmetal, black, brushed brass and one with no finish named. A stop tap is an isolating valve: it shuts water to one shower or mixer instead of closing the main and losing the whole house. Under tile means it sits in the wall with only the handle and flange showing, so it goes in at first fix, before tiling. CxC means both ends are compression fittings for 15mm copper pipe. See gunmetal, black and brushed brass.
Neap and Crimson overlap
They are largely the same line up. Eight fittings appear in both: pillar tap, bib tap, extended bib tap, wall type bath mixer, wall type sink mixer, one hole sink mixer with J spout, basin mixer with swivel spout and under tile stop tap. Neap adds a prep bowl tap and is the one offered across finishes. Crimson adds red and cold marker handle packs. If a finish is what you are after, Neap is the side to start on.
The mixers are straightforward. The bath and sink mixers come off the wall, the one hole sink mixer mounts through the sink or worktop, the basin mixer has a swivel spout, and the prep bowl tap is sized for a small second sink.
