Blutide Towel Rails
Blutide Towel Rails
Twenty one rails from Blutide, split 11 single and 10 double. That is a range rather than a catalogue, and it is worth knowing the shape of it before you start: two lengths, 600mm and 800mm, in five finishes, with the shorter length carrying most of the choice. Everything here is a plain wall mounted rail, so this is a decision about length, depth and finish and very little else.
600mm or 800mm
The split is almost even, 11 rails at 600mm and 10 at 800mm. The 600s are where the Accessories 88 line sits alongside the plain named rails, so there are more items at that length even though the finish count is the same, and they suit a guest cloakroom, a narrow wall beside a basin or a second rail in a room that already has one.
The 800s are the ones to fit if a full bath sheet is going to live on them. A bath towel folded over a 600 hangs doubled and dries slowly, which is the usual reason people come back for a longer rail. The 800mm group is also the tidiest set on the page, with single and double both running the same five finishes rather than a partial spread.
Single or Double
A single rail is one bar and sits close to the wall. A double carries two bars on the same brackets and projects further, so it holds twice the towel in the same wall width at the cost of sticking out further into the room. In a family bathroom the double usually wins. Behind a door or in a tight passage, measure the swing before you commit, because a double rail is the accessory people most often have to move after fitting.
Finishes and the Rest of the Room
Rails are stocked in Black, Brushed Brass, Chrome, Gunmetal and Stainless, though not every finish exists at every length, so check the length first and then the finish rather than the other way round. If you are fitting out a whole bathroom, work from Black, Gunmetal or Brushed Brass, or see the rings, hooks and holders that go with them on Blutide bathroom accessories.
