Dado Baths
This is the parent page for every Dado bath Bella Bathrooms carries, 90 in all. Most stand on their own feet, but the page also holds the built-in Conrad and a built-in shower bath, so if you are still choosing between a tub that stands free and one that drops into a deck, start here. Dado Creations manufactures in South Africa, and the material the brand is known for is DADOquartz: quartz ore mined from southern African earth, crushed and cast with resin and other minerals into a shell solid the whole way through.
What Is Actually on This Page
Eighty five are freestanding, four are the built-in Conrad at 1800 x 910 x 555 mm, and one is a built-in shower bath, the Angel at 1700 x 750 x 450 mm. Two freestanding models, the Kunene and the Storm, are acrylic rather than cast quartz. Everything else is DADOquartz. Shapes run from plain ovals and rectangles through the Sophia slipper, the double-walled Elegance, the Lara with its grab bar, and the Panorama, a round bath at 1600 x 1600 mm.
NOF and IOF in the Product Titles
Nearly every Dado title carries one of two codes and almost nobody explains them. NOF is No Overflow: the bath is cast without an overflow hole, so the rim is unbroken and it fills deeper than a conventional tub. IOF is Internal Overflow, built into the shell. Of the 90 baths here, 73 have no overflow and 12 are IOF. Settle it before first fix, because IOF needs its overflow tied into the waste.
Sizes, Finishes and Colours
Length is how most people narrow this down. The range starts at 1500 mm with the Gabriella and runs to 1935 mm with the Elaine, across 26 different lengths, so measure the wall before you fall for a shape. Overall heights run from 450 mm to 770 mm on the Sophia slipper. Finish is the other real choice: polished white is a low sheen, pearl white the natural matte satin. A few come in matte black, and the Gabriella and Rio in full body Beach, Cement and Cley colours.
Once you know the format, go deeper: Dado freestanding baths for the 85 sculptural models, Dado built-in baths for the drop-in Conrad, and Dado acrylic for the acrylic tubs. The full Dado Quartz range adds the matching basins. Our Kramerville showroom has it on show.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are Dado Quartz baths made of?
DADOquartz is quartz ore mined from the southern African earth, crushed and combined with resin and other natural minerals, then cast into a bath. It is solid all the way through rather than a thin shell with a coating, so there is no gel coat to craze and no veins or fissures. Dado states the material is non-porous, resistant to stains and bacterial growth, and UV resistant so it will not discolour.
What do NOF and IOF mean on a Dado bath?
NOF means No Overflow, a bath cast without an overflow hole so the rim is unbroken and you can fill it deeper. IOF is Internal Overflow, the same bath supplied with the overflow built into the shell. Of the 90 Dado baths on this page, 73 have no overflow and 12 are IOF. Check the title before ordering and tell your plumber, because the waste run differs between the two.
What is the difference between pearl white and polished white?
They are two finishes on the same solid material. Pearl white is the natural matte satin surface: non-glossy, soft and velvety to the touch, and it lets the quartz read as stone. Polished white is the same shell taken to a low sheen by a specialised polishing process, with no gel coat applied over it. Both perform identically. Come and see the two side by side before you commit, because they photograph almost alike.
What sizes do Dado baths come in?
Twenty six different lengths, from 1500 mm on the Gabriella and Ava up to 1935 mm on the Elaine, with plenty of options between 1600 mm and 1800 mm where most bathrooms land. Widths reach 1130 mm on the Acanthus and Zenith, and the Panorama is a round bath at 1600 x 1600 mm. Overall heights run from 450 mm to 770 mm on the deep Sophia slipper. Every product title carries the full dimensions.
How do I clean and look after a Dado Quartz bath?
Warm soapy water and a soft cloth for routine care, and a multipurpose bathroom cleaner for a proper clean. Dado says matte white surfaces may occasionally need a mildly abrasive product, but to avoid highly abrasive cleaners and never to expose the surface to petroleum-based products such as paint removers, oven cleaners or solvents. Cosmetics will not harm it. Treat stains within 24 hours, and scratches can be sanded out and blended.
