Duravit No.1

Duravit No.1 is the German maker's everyday series, built on simple rectangular shapes and a narrow basin rim that leaves a wide tap platform. It is a complete series at Duravit, and the selection Bella Bathrooms holds is a working cross-section of it: washbasins in five mountings, rimless pans with the seats and cistern to suit, a wall mounted bidet, a built-in bath, two vanity units and a mirror with lighting.

Choosing the Basin Mounting

Basins are the bulk of this page, and the mounting decides the joinery. Wall-mounted basins hang off the wall on concealed brackets and need nothing under them. Drop-in and under-counter basins are cut into a countertop, the first sitting proud of it and the second below it, so they are not interchangeable once the top is cut. A semi-recessed basin is set into a shallow counter and projects forward of it, which suits a narrow room. The 450 mm handrinse basin is the cloakroom size.

Reading the Titles

Duravit supplies these with its own shorthand and we list them as they arrive. OF is overflow, TP is tap platform and TH is the number of tap holes, so a basin marked with OF and TP, 1 TH is drilled once for a single lever mixer. C/Couple is close-coupled and BTW is back-to-wall. The series name itself is written both as No.1 and No. 1 depending on the item, which is why they are gathered on one page here.

Pans, Seats and Cisterns Are Separate Buys

The pans here are Duravit Rimless, which replaces the closed flushing rim with an open one so there is no hidden ledge for deposits. Where a title says pan only, that is exactly what it means: the seat and the cistern are priced and ordered separately. A close-coupled pan takes the matching exposed dual flush cistern that sits on it, listed on this page. A wall-hung pan needs an in-wall frame and cistern behind it, plus an actuator plate.

Seats are cut to the outline of one ceramic series, so a No.1 pan takes a No.1 seat and not a seat from another Duravit range; both soft close and standard hinge versions are stocked. The two vanity units here are in matt white and gloss white. See also Duravit basins, Duravit toilet seats, Duravit cisterns and Duravit vanity units, or the full Duravit range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a Duravit No.1 pan come with a seat and a cistern?
No. Where a listing says pan only, the seat and the cistern are separate purchases. A close-coupled pan takes the matching exposed dual flush cistern that bolts onto it, which is stocked on this page. A wall-hung pan needs an in-wall frame and cistern plus an actuator plate, none of which are included. Add the seat in either case, and check the fixings before the plumber arrives.
Which toilet seat fits a Duravit No.1 pan?
A Duravit No.1 seat. Duravit cuts each seat to the outline of one ceramic series, so a seat from D-Code, D-Neo or Starck will not sit correctly on a No.1 pan even where the fixing centres look similar. Soft close hinges, which lower the lid under damping, and standard hinges are both stocked here in white. More than one article number can carry the same short description, so send us the number moulded into your pan if you are unsure which seat it takes.
What do OF, TP and TH mean in the Duravit No.1 basin titles?
They are Duravit's own shorthand and we list the titles as supplied. OF is overflow, the slot near the rim that drains a basin left running. TP is tap platform, the flat shelf behind the bowl that the mixer stands on. TH is tap holes, so 1 TH is drilled once for a single lever mixer. A basin with no tap hole is meant for a wall mounted mixer.
Which Duravit No.1 basin mounting should I choose?
It depends on what sits under the basin. Wall-mounted models hang on concealed brackets with nothing beneath. Drop-in basins sit into a cut countertop from above, under-counter basins fix beneath it, and the cut differs between the two, so decide before the top is made. A semi-recessed basin projects forward of a shallow counter. The 450 mm handrinse size is for cloakrooms.
Is Duravit No.1 a complete bathroom range?
At Duravit it is, covering ceramics, furniture, bathtubs and mirrors under one simple rectangular design language. What we hold here is a working cross-section rather than every article in the series: washbasins in five mountings, rimless pans, seats, a wall mounted bidet, a built-in bath, two vanity units in matt white and gloss white, and a mirror with lighting. Ask us about anything else in the series.
