Geberit Mirrors and Mirror Cabinets

Every mirror in this collection is illuminated. There are two things here rather than one: flat illuminated mirrors that light the face and reflect it well, and mirror cabinets that do the same while hiding a shelf of bottles behind the glass. The ranges stocked are Geberit Option, Option Plus and Xeno², in widths from 400 mm to 1600 mm.

Illuminated Mirror or Mirror Cabinet

Choose on storage rather than looks. A flat illuminated mirror sits close to the wall and keeps the room visually quiet, which is the right answer when the vanity below already has drawers. A mirror cabinet projects further, around 172 mm on the Option Plus two-door unit, and buys you concealed shelving at eye level for the things that otherwise clutter a basin. If storage is the deciding factor, look at what the Geberit vanity units already give you before you commit the wall.

The Option and Option Plus Ranges

Geberit Option mirrors combine direct and indirect lighting in warm white using energy-efficient LEDs, and the Option mirror cabinets carry adjustable glass shelves and an integrated power socket. Option Plus adds a dimmable light, where the direct source covers everyday tasks and an indirect source below creates atmosphere, along with height-adjustable shelves, an integrated USB port and a sensor switch with a blue orientation light so it can be found in the dark.

Sizing the Mirror to the Wall

The collection runs from the round Option mirror at 750 mm diameter and the Option Plus square mirror at 1050 x 700 mm through to Xeno² illuminated mirrors at 400 x 900, 600 x 700, 900 x 700, 1200 x 700 and 1600 x 710 mm. Mirror cabinets come in 600, 750, 900 and 1200 mm widths in two and three door versions, including one in matt black.

As a rule, run the mirror to the width of the basin or vanity below it, or make it deliberately narrower, because anything in between reads as a mistake. Fix the electrical supply position before the wall is tiled, since these are mains-connected fittings that a qualified electrician has to terminate to SANS 10142. The wider Geberit range and the Geberit basins collection cover the rest of the washplace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all the Geberit mirrors in this range illuminated?
Yes. Every mirror and mirror cabinet in this collection has lighting built in, whether that is the direct and indirect LED lighting on the Option and Option Plus mirrors or the LED lighting on the Xeno2 range. There are no plain unlit mirrors here. If you specifically want an unlit mirror to sit above a vanity that already has good lighting, speak to us and we will tell you what else is available rather than sell you a lit one you do not need.
What is the difference between Geberit Option and Option Plus?
Option mirrors give you direct and indirect lighting in warm white from energy-efficient LEDs, and the Option cabinets have adjustable glass shelves and an integrated power socket. Option Plus is the upgrade: the light is dimmable, with a direct source for everyday tasks and an indirect source below for atmosphere, and it adds height-adjustable shelves, an integrated USB port and a sensor switch with a blue orientation light that makes it easy to find at night.
Should I choose an illuminated mirror or a mirror cabinet?
Decide on storage. A flat illuminated mirror sits close to the wall and keeps the room uncluttered, which works when the vanity underneath already holds everything. A mirror cabinet projects further into the room, roughly 172 mm on the Option Plus two-door unit, but gives you enclosed shelving at eye level, which is where most people actually want their daily items. In a small bathroom with a compact vanity, the cabinet usually earns its depth.
What size mirror should I fit above my basin?
The safest approach is to match the mirror width to the basin or vanity below it, or go deliberately narrower so it reads as a considered choice. A mirror that is only slightly wider or narrower than the unit below tends to look like an error. This collection offers 600, 750, 900 and 1200 mm cabinets and Xeno2 mirrors up to 1600 mm wide, so most standard vanity widths can be matched directly.
Does a Geberit illuminated mirror need an electrical connection?
Yes. These are mains-connected fittings, not plug-in items, so the supply has to be run to the mirror position and terminated by a qualified electrician in line with SANS 10142. Decide the exact position before the wall is tiled, because moving a supply afterwards means lifting tiles. It is worth noting that Option cabinets include an integrated power socket and Option Plus adds a USB port, which can save you running a second point for a shaver or toothbrush.
