Preda, Selva and Tamina Systems
Preda and Selva are the rimless ceramics at the centre of the Geberit urinal system, and each is made in three versions: with an integrated flush control, with a concealed control, or for entirely waterless operation. The integrated control sits in an accessible docking station beneath the ceramic, so servicing does not mean opening a wall. Power is a choice of mains, battery or a self-sustaining generator that keeps the unit flush-ready from around 30 flushes a day. Tamina is the third option, listed here with integrated control, generator operation and a 37 cm depth.
Selnova, Smyle and Waterless Options
Selnova is the workhorse range, listed with a lid, in the Trigonal shape, with a back entry inlet or with exposed flush control, and with inlets from the top or the rear and outlets to the rear or downwards, which matters when you are working to existing pipework. Smyle is the tidier domestic option. Waterless versions of Preda, Selva and Smyle are worth costing out for high-traffic washrooms, and the Preda waterless trap can be replaced from the top without lifting the ceramic off the wall.
Divisions, Traps and Installation Parts
Urinal divisions are stocked in white glass and in light grey, which is the usual way to meet privacy requirements in a public washroom without building a partition. Also here are the horizontal outlet urinal trap, the urinal inlet with sleeve, the flush pipe intermediate section and the universal installation set with brass nipple for the flush control.

A division mounted between bowls is the standard way to meet privacy expectations in a public washroom without building and tiling a masonry partition, and it keeps the wall easy to clean. Set the spacing from the centre line of each urinal at planning stage, because retro-fitting divisions to a run that was set out too tightly rarely works.
How does a Geberit waterless urinal work?
A waterless urinal has no flush and no water supply. Urine drains through a trap that seals against odour, so the maintenance task becomes servicing that trap on a schedule instead of maintaining a flush valve. On the Preda waterless model the trap can be replaced from the top without taking the ceramic off the wall, which is the practical difference in a busy washroom. Waterless models suit high-traffic sites and buildings under water restrictions.
What is the difference between integrated and concealed urinal control?
With integrated control, the flush control is built into the urinal and sits in a docking station underneath the ceramic, so it is reached from the front for servicing and nothing shows above the bowl. With concealed control, the control is installed in the wall behind the urinal and operated through a separate cover plate. Integrated is easier to maintain after handover, concealed gives a cleaner wall and a choice of plate finishes.
Does a Geberit urinal need a mains power connection?
Not necessarily. Geberit offers the flush control for Preda, Selva and Tamina urinals in mains, battery and self-sustaining generator versions. The generator version has a self-sustaining power supply and stays flush-ready from around 30 flushes a day, so there is no cabling and no battery to change. Mains suits new build where a supply can be run at first fix, and battery is usually the simplest retrofit into an existing washroom.
