What a FixFit is

The FixFit is a wall outlet — the fitting that brings water out of the wall and gives your shower hose something to connect to. It's the last piece of a concealed shower: unobtrusive, well made, and finished to match the rest of your fittings. Small as it is, it's the difference between a tidy, finished wall and an exposed, unfinished connection.

Why a concealed shower needs a FixFit

This is the key thing to know when you're ordering. With an exposed shower, the hand-shower hose screws straight onto the exposed thermostat. With a concealed installation, the hot and cold water are mixed inside the thermostat behind the tiles, and the mixed water is then fed out through the wall — where it needs a FixFit to emerge and to connect the hand shower hose. In other words: if your shower is concealed and has a hand shower, you need a FixFit. It's the part that's easiest to forget and impossible to do without.

Choose your features

FixFit comes in several practical versions, so you can match the fitting to the job:

  • Non-return valve — prevents water flowing back into the supply, for hygiene and to meet plumbing regulations.
  • Pivot (ball) joint — lets the hose connection swivel, so the hose sits at a natural angle and moves freely.
  • Stop / shut-off valve — lets you turn the water off at the outlet itself, handy for changing a hand shower or isolating the supply.
  • Integrated shower holder — some FixFit outlets double as a hand-shower holder, combining two fittings in one clean piece.

Design shapes and finishes

Because the FixFit is on show, it's made to coordinate. Choose the cover shape to echo your thermostat and shower — E (soft-square), S (round) or Square — and match the finish across the room. FixFit is available in Chrome and FinishPlus surfaces so it sits seamlessly alongside your ShowerSelect or Ecostat control and your shower. FinishPlus surfaces are PVD-coated and reproducible for up to 15 years.

FixFit Porter — outlet and holder in one

If you want the hand shower to have a home as well as a connection, the FixFit Porter range combines the wall outlet with a hand-shower holder in a single fitting — a clean, minimal solution that saves a second bracket and keeps the wall uncluttered. Available in matching E, S and Square designs.

Renovation and replacement

A FixFit is also the simple way to smarten up an existing shower: it connects to a standard ½" (G½) supply, so swapping a tired old wall outlet for a crisp new FixFit is a quick, low-cost upgrade — no tiling required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Hansgrohe FixFit wall outlet?
A FixFit wall outlet is the connection point in the wall where a shower hose attaches to the concealed water supply. It gives a neat, finished outlet for a hand shower on a hose, typically used with a wall bar, holder or a bath filler arrangement. It replaces an untidy exposed connection with a tidy fitting that matches your other hardware.
What does the non-return valve do?
The built-in non-return (check) valve prevents water from flowing back from the hose into the supply pipework, which protects water hygiene and helps meet plumbing regulations. It works automatically in the background with no action needed from you.
What is the difference between the FixFit E and FixFit S shapes?
The letters denote the styling of the visible escutcheon: E is the angular, square-edged design and S is the rounded design. Some versions also include a pivot joint that lets the hose move more freely. You choose the shape that matches the rest of your shower fittings.
What finishes are available?
FixFit wall outlets are offered across Hansgrohe's FinishPlus range, in finishes such as chrome, matt black, matt white, brushed black chrome, brushed bronze and polished gold optic. This lets you coordinate the outlet with your thermostat, hand shower and holder. Availability of individual finishes can vary by model.
What does the FixFit outlet connect to?
It provides a standard threaded connection point, so it pairs with a Hansgrohe shower hose and hand shower, and coordinates with matching holders and wall bars. It is the wall end of the hose connection rather than the shower control itself.
Do I need any special valve or mixer to use a FixFit outlet?
The FixFit outlet is simply the hose connection; the water is turned on and set by your separate shower mixer or thermostat. It is commonly used alongside a concealed or exposed thermostat that feeds the outlet. Your plumber connects it to the relevant supply.
Is the FixFit outlet suitable for my water pressure?
FixFit outlets are designed for standard household high-pressure systems, typically from around 1 bar upwards. If you have a low-pressure or gravity-fed system, check the product's specification or ask us before ordering. Correct pressure ensures good flow through the hand shower.
Is FixFit easy to install?
Yes, it is a straightforward fitting for a plumber, connecting to the supply and finishing flush against the tiled wall. On concealed systems the supply pipe is set during rough-in and the FixFit trims out afterwards. Professional installation ensures a watertight, regulation-compliant connection.
How do I clean the FixFit wall outlet?
Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Avoid abrasive pads and acidic or descaling cleaners, which can damage the finish, particularly on coloured and brushed surfaces.
Are spare parts and a warranty available?
Yes. FixFit wall outlets are covered by the Hansgrohe manufacturer's warranty and spare parts are available. You can register your product and find more information on hansgrohe.com.
