Duravit Starck Range

Philippe Starck has designed for Duravit since 1994, and this page gathers every product we stock whose name carries his. The rule behind the collection is that the title contains "Starck", so Starck 2, Starck 3, ME by Starck, Soleil by Starck, Starck T accessories, Tulum by Starck mixers and SensoWash Starck seats all sit together here. Bella Bathrooms in Kramerville, Johannesburg carries 105 of them.

How the Sub-Families Differ

The sub-family matters more than the Starck name does. Starck 3 is the volume range, pared-back rectangular ceramics Duravit credits with bringing design into a segment where it was previously rare, and the deepest family here, covering WCs, bidets, urinals, basins and seats. ME by Starck is the softer, more current line, sold in white high gloss and white satin matt. Soleil by Starck is the most sculptural, its basins shaped after wind-formed dunes. Starck 2 appears as one wall-mounted WC and two basins. Starck T is accessories, Tulum a tap series.

What Is Actually Stocked

Toilets and seats dominate. There are wall-hung and floor-standing pans across Starck 3, ME by Starck, Starck 2 and Soleil, close-coupled pans with matching exposed cisterns, and seats in standard hinge and soft close, including wider ones for the big Starck 3 pan and the disabled WC. Alongside those sit Starck 3 and ME by Starck bidets and urinals, a Starck 3 urinal partition, countertop and undercounter basins, Starck baths, Tulum mixers and Starck T accessories in chrome and black matt.

Hygiene and Fitting Details

Duravit Rimless is the feature to look for on the newer pans, since an open rim leaves nowhere for grime to sit. Several ME by Starck WCs add HygieneGlaze, an antibacterial glaze fired into the ceramic, which Duravit says inhibits pathogen growth by 99.9 percent within 24 hours against a conventional glaze. The Soleil wall-hung WC uses HygieneFlush, rotating the flush stream through two offset openings on 4.5 litres.

If you are replacing rather than specifying, match the sub-family first and the dimension second. Browse the wider Duravit toilets, toilet seats, basins, urinals and bidets, or the full Duravit range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Starck 3 and ME by Starck?
Starck 3 is the older and much larger family, built on pared-back rectangular ceramics with a wide flat rim, and it covers almost every fixture type including urinals and disabled-height WCs. ME by Starck is the newer, softer line, sold in white high gloss and white satin matt, and it leans more heavily on Duravit Rimless, HygieneGlaze and HygieneFlush. They are not interchangeable, so match the family before the size.
Will a Starck 3 toilet seat fit an ME by Starck toilet?
No. Duravit seats are cut to the pan they were designed for, and the Starck 3 and ME by Starck bowls are different shapes. Starck 3 alone has several seat options, because the big Starck 3 pan and the disabled WC each take a wider seat than the standard bowl. Check the model name printed on your pan, usually behind the seat hinges or under the rim, and buy the seat that names it.
How do I identify which Duravit Starck toilet I already have?
Lift the seat and look at the ceramic between the hinge holes and the back of the bowl. Duravit stamps a model number there, and often the series name as well. Photograph it and send it through with the outside width of the pan and the distance between the seat fixing holes. That combination is enough for us to identify the pan and quote the correct seat or cistern fittings.
Is the Duravit Starck 3 urinal supplied with the partition?
No, they are separate products. This collection holds the Starck 3 urinal on its own and, listed separately, a Starck 3 urinal partition measuring 80 x 400 x 705 mm. If you are fitting a bank of urinals in a commercial washroom you order the bowls and the partitions as individual line items. The ME by Starck urinal, which carries DuraShield, is a third option.
Do the SensoWash seats in this collection fit any Starck toilet?
Not automatically. The SensoWash seats here are model-specific, and one of them is a SensoWash Starck seat made for a DuraStyle WC rather than a Starck one, so the name on the seat is not a reliable guide. Several Duravit pans are also sold in a dedicated version described as being for a SensoWash seat. Confirm the pairing against the pan number before ordering.
