Duravit Taps
Duravit Taps and Mixers
Duravit makes tapware to go with its own ceramics, which is the reason to buy the two together rather than mixing brands and hoping the finishes agree. This collection covers basin mixers in short and tall versions, concealed shower and bath mixers, freestanding bath mixers, bidet mixers, a thermostatic shower set and an electronic sensor tap for commercial use. The series stocked are C.1, B.2, A.1, Tulum by Starck, Wave, D-Code, D-Neo and Sensor 1.
Getting the Basin Tap Height Right
This is where most tap orders go wrong. Duravit sizes its basin mixers S, M, L and XL, putting S and M with smaller and classic basins, hand basins and built-in basins, and L and XL with countertop bowls, where the greater fall distance from a taller spout would otherwise throw water out of a shallow basin. The listings here follow the same logic, separating short basin taps from tall ones. Settle the basin first and the tap follows from it.
Concealed, Exposed and Thermostatic
Most of the shower and bath mixers here are for concealed installation, meaning a rough-in body buried in the wall and a finish set fitted after tiling. That has to be planned before the plumber closes the wall, so order those items early and check whether the basic set comes with the finish set, since one item on this page is a concealed basic set on its own. Bath diverter mixers switch flow between the bath spout and the shower, and a thermostatic mixer holds the temperature you set even if another outlet in the house is opened.
Water and Energy Saving Features
Several basin mixers carry FreshStart, where only cold water flows with the lever in the middle position and hot is added only when the handle is deliberately moved to the left, so the geyser is not fired every time someone rinses their hands. MinusFlow reduces the flow rate to 3.5 litres a minute instead of 5.0. Finishes across the collection include chrome, matt black, brushed stainless steel and brushed bronze.
Match the tap to the ceramic before ordering. The Duravit basins collection shows which models have one tap hole and which have none, the Duravit vanity units hold the cabinets beneath, and Duravit showers covers heads and rails. The wider Duravit range takes in toilets and baths.
