Duravit Toilets

Wall-Hung, Back-to-Wall or Close-Coupled
A wall-hung pan bolts to a frame inside the wall and carries no weight on the floor, leaving the tiling unbroken and easy to clean under. A back-to-wall or floor-standing pan rests on the floor and hides its pipework behind a duct or furniture panel. A close-coupled pan takes a visible cistern bolted straight onto it, the simplest to retrofit because the wall stays closed. Projections run from 480 mm compact pans for cloakrooms through 540 mm to 575 mm bodies, up to 700 mm pans for accessible bathrooms. Rimless, HygieneFlush and HygieneGlaze
Most pans here are rimless. Duravit Rimless replaces the closed flushing rim with an open one, so there is no hidden ledge for deposits to collect in, and Duravit states the flow washes the entire inner surface at 4.5 litres. HygieneFlush combines that open rim with a rotational flush fed from two openings at once. HygieneGlaze, offered on selected pans, is an antibacterial glaze fired into the bowl up to the rim.

What is the difference between a wall-hung, back-to-wall and close-coupled Duravit toilet?
A wall-hung pan is bolted to a frame built into the wall and floats clear of the floor, with the cistern hidden behind the tiling. A back-to-wall or floor-standing pan stands on the floor and conceals its pipework in a duct or furniture unit. A close-coupled pan has a visible cistern bolted straight onto the back of it. Wall-hung gives the cleanest line and the easiest floor to clean, but close-coupled is far simpler to fit into an existing bathroom.
Does a Duravit toilet come with the seat included?
It depends on the item, so read the title. Anything described as pan only, or as a pan for a SensoWash seat and cover, is supplied without a seat. A few items list a soft close seat as part of the product. Duravit seats are cut to the shape of one ceramic series and are not interchangeable between series, so if the pan does not include one, order the seat for that exact series from our Duravit toilet seats page.
What does rimless mean on a Duravit toilet?
A conventional pan has a closed flushing rim, a hollow ledge running round the top of the bowl that distributes water and also traps deposits where you cannot reach them. Duravit Rimless removes that ledge and uses an open rim instead, directing the water so it still washes the whole inner surface. The practical gain is that the bowl can be wiped out completely, with nothing hidden under a lip.
Which Duravit toilets suit an accessible bathroom?
Look for the pans listed with a 700 mm projection for disabled bathrooms. The longer body brings the front of the bowl further out from the wall, which makes transferring on and off easier and leaves room for a support rail either side. DuraStyle, D-Code and Starck 3 are all stocked in that projection here. Matching seats for those longer pans are listed separately, so order the accessible version rather than the standard one.
What else do I need to buy with a Duravit wall-hung toilet?
Three things beyond the pan. A supporting frame fixed to the structural floor and wall, because the frame and not the ceramic carries the load. A concealed cistern sized to that frame, which on the Duravit system is the DuraSystem in-wall unit. And a flush plate, the only part still visible once the wall is closed and tiled. Check whether your chosen pan includes a seat, and confirm the fixing set is supplied.
