Franke Luxtub
Luxtub is Franke's deep single bowl wash trough, the thing you put in a laundry, scullery or back of house area when a kitchen sink is too shallow for the job. Three models are stocked here, all pressed from Grade 304 stainless steel. The wider set, including the smaller ET economy troughs, sits on Franke wash troughs, and the whole brand is under Franke.
The Three Models
The LDL and the DLT share the same shell at 600x500x257mm in 0.9mm Grade 304, with a pressed bowl of 525x425mm and 257mm deep, which Franke rates at 43 litres. The difference is how they mount: the LDL is the wall mounted and drop-on version, the DLT is the inset version that drops into a worktop on a 535x435mm cut-out. The SIRX342 is the smaller and heavier of the three at 500x450x240mm deep in a thicker 1.2mm Grade 304, and Franke specifies it for either inset or wall mounted use.
Mounting Without a Cupboard
The reason these end up on walls rather than in cabinets is that they are usually going into a room where floor space is worth more than storage. Franke fixes the LDL to a pair of galvanised mild steel Falcon brackets and the wall mounted SIRX342 to a pair of stainless steel brackets. Waste Outlets
All three take a 40mm waste outlet, which is larger than the 38mm used on Franke's drop-on kitchen sinks, so a trap carried over from a sink swap will not necessarily fit. Franke's specification lists the waste fitting separately on all three troughs, and the listings here reflect that unevenly: one is described as supplied with a waste and one states plainly that the waste fitting is excluded.
Read the individual product before ordering and add the waste and trap in the same order rather than discovering the gap on installation day.
