Geberit Wall-Hung Toilets

Every wall-hung Geberit WC we stock sits on this page: bare pans, complete sets supplied with a seat, AquaClean shower toilets, wall-hung bidets and combined WC and bidet pans. The ranges are Selnova, iCon, Smyle Square, Acanto, Xeno2, Abalona and Geberit ONE, in round and square bowl shapes. Raised and barrier-free pans are included for accessible bathrooms, and several iCon sets are made in a small-projection version for narrow rooms.

What the Installation Involves

A wall-hung pan is not a standalone purchase. It bolts to a Geberit installation element, usually a Duofix frame, which carries the load inside the wall and is tested to 400 kg. Behind it sits the concealed cistern, and the only visible control is the actuator plate. Duofix elements suit stud and drywall construction as well as building out in front of solid masonry, so this is not limited to new builds. Get the rough-in depth right and the plate finishes flush with the tile.

Choosing Between the Ranges

Selnova is the practical, widely specified range and has the deepest selection here, including square-bowl and paraplegic pans. iCon is the compact, softly rounded option. Smyle Square and Selnova Square give you crisp right-angled bowls. Acanto is the design-led range and its sets use Geberit's TurboFlush technology, which Geberit describes as flushing quietly and powerfully while rinsing the ceramic thoroughly. Xeno2 and Geberit ONE sit at the top, with ONE also offered with the KeraTect glaze.

Seats, Bidets and Shower Toilets

Some items are complete sets with the seat in the box and others are pans on their own, so check the title and add a seat from our Geberit toilet seats page if you need one. AquaClean shower toilets replace the seat with an integrated warm water bidet function. To specify the parts behind the wall, see our concealed cisterns and flush plates, or compare rimless models on our Geberit Rimfree toilets page.

The wider Geberit range and full toilet range are displayed at our Kramerville showroom in Johannesburg, mounted on working frames so you can judge height and projection properly. The coffee is on us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a Geberit wall hung toilet need a concealed cistern?
Yes. A wall-hung pan has no cistern of its own, so it must be paired with a Geberit installation element, a concealed cistern sized to that frame, and an actuator plate. Geberit designs those three parts as a matched system and supplies them from one source, which is why mixing a Geberit pan with another brand's frame is a false economy. Budget for all four items when you price the job.
How much weight can a Geberit wall-hung toilet take?
Geberit installation elements for wall-hung WCs are tested to a load of 400 kg, which is comfortably beyond normal domestic use. That figure applies to the frame and its fixings, so the surrounding construction has to be capable of carrying the same load without damaging the finished wall. A correctly anchored Duofix frame, fixed to the floor and the structural wall as instructed, is the part doing the work rather than the tiles.
Can a wall-hung toilet be fitted against a brick wall?
Yes. Geberit Duofix elements are made for installation in stud and lightweight drywall construction and also for building in front of a solid wall, either at part height or full room height. In a masonry bathroom the frame is anchored to the existing wall and a new prewall is built out over it, which costs you roughly the depth of the cistern in floor space. Your plumber sets this out before tiling.
What is the difference between the Acanto, iCon, Smyle and Selnova wall-hung toilets?
They are separate ceramic design ranges rather than quality grades. Selnova is the broad, practical range with the widest choice of shapes and accessible options. iCon is compact and rounded, with small-projection versions for tight rooms. Smyle Square and Selnova Square use square bowls with straighter lines. Acanto is the design-led range and its sets use TurboFlush. Seats are cut to each range, so a seat is not interchangeable between them.
What is a Geberit AquaClean wall-hung toilet?
AquaClean is Geberit's shower toilet, a wall-hung WC with an integrated bidet function that cleans with a gentle warm water spray instead of paper. The models stocked here are Alba, Tuma, Sela and Mera, in ascending order of features. They are still wall-hung ceramics and still need a frame and concealed cistern, but they also require a water connection and a power supply, so plan those in before the wall is closed up.
