Duravit Happy D.2 Range
Happy D is one of Duravit's longest-running families, drawn by sieger design around what Duravit calls the archetypal circular arc, a curve carried through the ceramics, furniture and baths alike. This page holds both the Happy D.2 and Happy D.2 Plus lines. Stock here leans towards the washing area: washbowls and furniture basins, vanity units and consoles, freestanding baths, WCs, bidets and matching seats.
Happy D.2 Plus Washbowls and Cabinets
Plus is where the range gets its colour. The washbowls come at 600 x 460 mm and 600 x 400 mm in polished white, anthracite matt, and a two-tone version listed as white with anthracite matt: a white inner bowl against a dark outer body. The Plus furniture here is a 775 x 490 mm two-drawer C-shape cabinet in taupe satin matt, sold as cabinet only, and a 1600 x 550 mm console. Duravit offers this furniture in eleven body finishes, including a Graphite Supermatt with anti-fingerprint coating, so a finish we do not list can usually be ordered.
Vanity Units, Consoles and Baths
The standard Happy D.2 vanity units are wall-mounted two-drawer units 775 mm wide in linen matt and white high gloss, pairing with the furniture basins at 800 x 505 mm and 650 x 505 mm. A polished chrome metal console suits a basin that should float on a frame rather than sit on drawers. Three freestanding baths are held at 1800 x 800 mm, Happy D.2 in white, and Happy D.2 Plus in white and Graphite Super Matt. See our Duravit vanity units and Duravit baths pages for the alternatives.
WCs, Bidets and Seats
The WCs run to a 540 mm wall-hung pan in white with HygieneGlaze, a wall-hung pan in anthracite high gloss, a 570 mm floor-standing back-to-wall pan, and a close-coupled pan whose dual-flush cistern is listed separately. Seats follow the ceramics, soft-close in white and anthracite matt, so the darker pan can be matched. Bidets are wall-mounted at 540 mm or floor-standing.
Happy D.2 also runs to circular mirrors and taller cabinets, so check our Duravit mirrors page for what is held locally. To compare Happy D.2 with the other families, see the full Duravit range, or browse our basins and toilets pages.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Happy D.2 and Happy D.2 Plus?
Plus is an extension of the same sieger design language rather than a replacement for it. Duravit builds Happy D.2 around the archetypal circular arc, while Happy D.2 Plus works the archetypal open oval through above-counter basins with precise lines, stand-alone consoles, and matching tall and semi-tall cabinets. In practice the Plus pieces we stock are the countertop washbowls, including the two-tone versions, the C-shape drawer cabinet, the long console and the Graphite Super Matt bath.
Are the Happy D.2 Plus washbowls available in anthracite?
Yes, and in two ways. We list the 600 x 460 mm and 600 x 400 mm Plus washbowls in polished white, in anthracite matt throughout, and in a two-tone version described as white with anthracite matt, which gives a white inner bowl and a dark outer body. The two-tone option is the one most people are picturing when they ask, because it reads as a dark bowl on the vanity while staying light where the water sits.
What size are the Happy D.2 vanity units and consoles?
The wall-mounted vanity units we stock are 775 mm wide with two drawers, listed at 775 x 479 x 380 mm in linen matt and 380 x 775 x 480 mm in white high gloss. The Happy D.2 Plus C-shape cabinet is 775 x 490 mm in taupe satin matt and is sold as cabinet only, so the basin is a separate line. There is also a 1600 x 550 mm Plus console and a polished chrome metal console for a washbasin.
Does the Happy D.2 close-coupled toilet include the cistern?
No. The floor-mounted close-coupled pan and the Happy D.2 dual-flush close-coupled cistern are listed as separate products, so both go on the order. The seat is separate again. It is worth checking all three lines before you check out, because a pan arriving without its cistern is the most common cause of a delayed bathroom install. The floor-standing back-to-wall and wall-hung pans instead run off a concealed cistern.
Do Happy D.2 toilets have HygieneGlaze?
One of them does. The 540 mm wall-mounted pan is listed as white with HygieneGlaze, a glaze fired into the inside of the ceramic that Duravit states inhibits the growth of pathogens by 99.9 percent within 24 hours, compared with a conventional glaze. Because it is fired in rather than applied afterwards, it does not wear off with normal cleaning. The other Happy D.2 pans we carry are supplied in the standard glaze.
