Franke Boiling Water Taps
Franke Boiling Water Taps
A boiling water tap gives filtered water at the boil on demand, from a unit in the cupboard below rather than a kettle on the counter. Eleven listings sit here, and three of them are not boiling taps at all. Eight are Zip HydroTap G5 items for residential use, six taps and two command centres, in matt black, chrome, brushed gold and brushed rose gold. The other three deliver chilled water only.
Boiling and chilled, or boiling, chilled and sparkling
Two letter codes cover everything here. BC is boiling and chilled. BCS adds sparkling, which means a CO2 cylinder has to live in the cupboard beside the command centre. Arc, Cube and Classic Plus describe the shape of the tap, not what comes out of it, so the two choices are independent. Home M in a listing name marks it as the residential command centre.
Check what a listing actually contains before ordering. Some are the complete package, tap and command centre together, and at least one is the command centre on its own, for replacing the unit under an existing tap. The two are always a pair: nothing here works without both.
Three of these are chillers, not boiling taps
The Zip ChillTap is an under counter chiller with a chrome plated brass tap, a quarter turn lever and a 360 degree swivel spout, holding water at 5 to 10°C. The Chillmaster and Economaster are upright floor standing units with a bubbler and a carafe spout, made for gyms, canteens and public areas rather than kitchens, the Chillmaster in stainless steel and the Economaster in white epoxy. The 42L in those two titles is a delivery rate, not a tank size: Franke rates both at 42 litres an hour at under 11°C, which works out to around 210 glasses an hour. Compare them on throughput, not storage.
Where this page ends and the HydroTap page begins
This page is the shortlist at the sink, the residential taps and the chilled alternatives. The full Zip HydroTap page carries the rest of the range, including the commercial command centres Zip sizes for 20, 60 and 100 people, and the font kits, extensions and CO2 kit. For boiling water on a wall rather than at a sink, the Zip Hydroboil range runs to 50 litres. Consumables are on Franke plumbing parts, and everything is under Franke.
