What Sits in the Selnova Range
The WCs run from basic close-coupled pans through to the Selnova Premium wall-hung sets, which are washdown, shrouded or semi-shrouded, Rimfree and supplied with a seat. Basins are the largest group, in rounded and Selnova Square profiles from 360 mm up to 650 mm, with or without tap hole and overflow, plus corner basins and matching pedestals. Urinals come in trigonal and S shapes with the inlet from the top or rear. Seats cover standard, soft-close and quick-release.
Rimfree and Barrier-Free Options
Much of the WC line is Rimfree, meaning the pan has no concealed rim channel for soil to sit in. Geberit's position is that rimless pans are easier to clean and more hygienic, which counts most in shared bathrooms. Selnova Comfort is the barrier-free sub-line: its wall-hung WC has a 70 cm projection to ease transfer from a wheelchair, matched by a barrier-free washbasin and seat. What is the difference between Selnova and Selnova Premium?
Premium is the upgraded wall-hung WC within the same range. Those products are washdown pans that are shrouded or semi-shrouded, so the fixing points and pan underside are closed off rather than exposed, they are Rimfree, and they are sold as a set with the matching WC seat included. Standard Selnova covers the wider, plainer spread of close-coupled and floor-standing pans. Both share the same ceramic quality and the same design language, so you can mix them across a house without a visual clash.
Are Geberit Selnova toilets rimless?
Many of them are. Any Selnova product with Rimfree in its name has no concealed rim channel, so there is no hidden cavity for soil and limescale to build up in and the whole bowl can be wiped in one pass. Not every pan in the range is Rimfree, particularly the older close-coupled models, so check the product title before ordering. If rimless is a requirement, filter to the Rimfree products or ask our showroom team to confirm the specific pan you are looking at.
Does a Selnova wall-hung WC need a concealed cistern?
Yes. A wall-hung pan carries no cistern of its own and no floor pedestal, so it has to be hung off a concealed frame with a cistern built into the wall or a prewall. You will need three things: the pan, a Geberit concealed cistern with its supporting frame, and an actuator plate. The frame also carries the load, so it must be fixed properly during the rough-in. If the wall is masonry rather than drywall, tell your plumber up front so the correct frame type is ordered.
Which Selnova basin size should I choose?
Work backwards from the space. The 360 mm and 410 mm handrinse and corner basins are for guest cloakrooms where depth is tight. The 450 mm to 550 mm sizes are the usual choice for a family bathroom with a pedestal. The 600 mm and 650 mm basins suit a main bathroom or a vanity top. Also check the tap holes: Selnova basins are sold with a centred tap hole, an offset left or right tap hole, or with no tap hole for a wall-mounted mixer.

Yes, the Selnova Comfort sub-line is designed for barrier-free use.
