Duravit D-Code Range

D-Code is Duravit's practical range, drawn by sieger design and built around one shape: a gently rounded rectangle with a wide surrounding rim. Duravit calls the design language clear and timelessly modern, and the point of the series is breadth rather than statement. It covers basins, furniture, baths, shower trays, WCs, bidets, urinals, taps and accessories, so a whole bathroom can come from it. Bella Bathrooms in Kramerville, Johannesburg stocks 61 D-Code items.

Where D-Code Sits in the Duravit Line-up

Plainly put, D-Code is the workhorse and Starck is the design statement. If you are fitting out a rental block, a guesthouse or a second bathroom where the budget must stretch across several rooms, D-Code is usually the answer. It is also the range Duravit points at hotels and semi-public work, which is why it carries barrier-free Vital versions and Med versions for clinical use. The newer D-Code WCs are available with Duravit Rimless.

What Is Actually in the Collection

Basins are the bulk of it, with wall-mounted washbasins from a 450 x 340 mm hand rinse up to 600 x 550 mm, furniture basins to 1050 mm, undermount and drop-in options, plus a pedestal and siphon covers. Then come wall-hung, close-coupled and back-to-wall WCs with exposed cisterns and seats, a wall-mounted bidet at 545 mm and a floor-mounted one at 540 mm, two urinals, four built-in baths from 1500 x 750 to 1800 x 800 mm, acrylic shower trays, three mixers and towel rails, hooks, a paper holder and a cosmetic mirror.

Med Versions and the Water-Saving Taps

Several D-Code basins carry the Med designation, Duravit's version for clinical and care settings, and there is a wall-hung WC with a 700 mm projection for disabled bathrooms. The D-Code basin mixer is offered with FreshStart, where the handle in its middle position draws cold water only so the geyser is not fired for a short hand wash, and with MinusFlow, which limits flow to 3.5 litres a minute instead of 5.

D-Code is easy to live with and easy to replace, which matters more in a busy bathroom than it gets credit for. Compare it with the Duravit basins, toilets, showers, baths and taps, or the full Duravit range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Duravit D-Code range and how does it differ from Starck?
D-Code is Duravit's practical, high-volume series, designed by sieger design around a softly rounded rectangle. It is deliberately plain and deliberately broad, covering everything from hand rinse basins to baths. The Starck ranges are the design-led side of Duravit and are priced accordingly. If you want a recognisable designer bathroom, look at Starck. If you want sound German ceramics that do the job across several rooms, D-Code is the better buy.
Which D-Code basin should I choose?
It depends on how it is mounted. Wall-mounted washbasins hang off brackets and take a pedestal or siphon cover to hide the trap, and we stock them from a 450 x 340 mm hand rinse up to 600 x 550 mm. Furniture basins up to 1050 mm sit on a vanity unit. Undermount and drop-in versions fit into a countertop. Measure the space and decide the mounting first, then pick the size.
Will a D-Code toilet seat fit any D-Code pan?
Not automatically. The collection holds several D-Code seats, including standard hinge, soft close, a fold-over soft close version and a seat made for the disabled WC, which has a different pan. Duravit stamps a model number on the ceramic between the seat fixing holes. Read that number, or measure the bowl width and the centres of the fixing holes, before you order a replacement.
What is the difference between the two D-Code urinals?
The difference is where the water supply enters. One is listed as Top Entry, which takes the flush from above and suits an exposed or surface-run supply pipe, and the other is the standard version. That is a plumbing decision rather than an aesthetic one, so check what the existing pipework does before choosing. If you are installing from scratch, our team can talk it through against your drawings.
What does Med mean on a D-Code washbasin?
Med is Duravit's designation for versions intended for clinical and care environments, where the fitting has to be easy to reach and easy to clean. Several D-Code basins in this collection carry it. Alongside them Duravit offers Vital versions for barrier-free bathrooms, and this collection includes a wall-hung WC with a 700 mm projection for disabled bathrooms with a matching seat.
